What's Different

Offering a fun and interactive game for parents to play with their children, “What’s Different?” presents viewers with four objects, three of which are identical (same shape and color), and one that is dissimilar. The viewer is asked which of the four objects is different and what makes it different, before the correct answer is given.

Program Viewing Tips
  • Have a color or shape hunt around your house. Ask your toddler to find blue things or round objects.
  • Play along! Place two objects that look alike and one that looks different in front of your child. Ask, “What’s different?” and “Why?”
  • What’s Different helps toddlers build skills in naming, sorting, and categorizing objects.
  • What’s Different promotes development of observational and visual discrimination skills.
  • Children begin arranging things in categories by around 24 months.
  • Children can correctly identify an image when its name is spoken between 8 and 13 months.
Program Educational Values
